Sick and Tired

I am sick and tired of this city where public transport sucks, where education and health care suck, where people suck (and I do not mean sexually here), where ecology sucks, because what cars suck out sucks, where roads suck, where salaries suck.

I am sick and tired of this city where public transport fails to come and deliver, where roads are broken and dirty, where authorities are corrupt, where students don’t want to learn, where parents don’t want to teach their children how to behave or don’t know themselves.

I am sick and tired of this city where dirt and filth lie in the streets in abundance, where dust covers the streets and goes up in the air, where sand is used to cover the roads in winter but it makes the snow filthy and shoes dirty, where in winter you can only see white for the first hour and then the white sadly dies under the black.

I am sick and tired of this city where roads are fucked up, where authorities are fucked up, where people are fucked up (and this is not sexually either). And people are fucked up, jammed in traffic jams for hours, getting tiny salaries, waiting for public transport to come when it doesn’t, breathing filth and dust all year round, fucking up the streets with their filth and garbage and being fucked up with filth and garbage in their own turn.

I am sick and tired of the city where people thorw everything right under their feet and when all you can see in the roads and the bush is everything but clean asphalt and grass. You can stumble upon cigarette butts, beer bottles, transport tickets, cigarette boxes, shop wrapping, food, plastic, paper, wood, metal, glass. You can witness garbage sites that are not cleaned for days and weeks, that are nice to rats and mice, that permeate the air with stink.

I am sick and tired of the city where nice houses are neglected and ruined, where they build only faceless or many-faced but still faceless modern skyscrapers in the city centre, where universities, hospitals and schools look like after the revolution that had stormed them, where they build everything but the garages for parking, where they burn people’s houses to clear the site for yet another faceless thing.

I am sick and tired of the city where people don’t wash for days and judging by their appearance and smell, some for weeks, where people look shabbier than neglected houses, where young women look like whores in the East, where young men look like ex-inmates and always bear a bottle of beer, where crowds smoke and spit.

I am sick and tired of the city where all you can see is billboards and posters, where grass doesn’t grow, but where they put layer after layer of earth yet forget to sow and care, where it is pitch-dark after the twilight and you always thread at your own discretion.

I am sick and tired of the city and country where a tiny bunch is unsatisfied but cannot do much because they are not let to or because they are too selfish, and where the other crowd is happy to idolise and vote for. I am sick and tired of the city and country where the authorities are always right and good, where the TV sucks and it sucks the young with the stupidity, where apart from overt stupidity there is semi-overt stupidity in the everlasting presence of idols and gods. I am sick and tired of the city and country where the sun never sets over the kremlins and white houses, but it never rises over the other houses because the lamps are absent or won’t work.

Yet, when the sun shines and the leaves are greeny-golden, when the breeze makes it feel like dust is gone, when you let other things take you away, then you are taken away and see the bright and the good too, even if you have to make it yourself and make it believe.
