It’s shit that fear is creeping more and more into our minds, slowly gaining ground. It comes in various forms and takes various incarnations. But it gets here with certainty and without retreat.
Fear can be based on economy. Life is becoming so nervous and full of premonitions. New gossips about collapse and some horrible events in Russian economy come in waves. They take a break, then attack again. The world economy is no help here. And it looks like the worst-case scenario is the only one that is going to happen. Is it good to live your life in constant fear of losing even those pennies you have?
Fear can be based on politics. Life is becoming dangerous in this country. Premonitions are overwhelming. Whatever you do, you are monitored. Whatever you say or write, goes to special archives. Masses don’t realise all this is actually happening. But it sure is happening now and here. It may not yet be at your doorstep, but you never know for whom the bell tolls.
Fear can be based on little things. You would consider them little. But then one moment they become huge. You would never know this might actually be wrong, but wrong it will be made if you are aimed at. And the worst thing is you don’t really know whether you are aimed at or not until the moment it is too late to hide.
It’s shit that this country is always getting from bad to worse. But I’d prefer the bad to the worst. When it is bad, you can at least count on some sort of freedom and on being on your own, yet not on somebody else’s own. When it is the worst, you can count on nothing and the freedom is something you read about in books or faintly feel like some fading melody from your recollections of the past. It’s shit that freedom of the few means non-freedom of the most. And it’s shit that this majority is even happy about not being free.
